The New Traditions Greening Committee are parents and educators working at integrating an outdoor classroom into the curriculum for every student. We have overseen the design and installation of school gardens and an outdoor classroom through a school bond program and independent grants. We work closely with our Outdoor Educator and support them in the outdoor classroom with volunteers and supplies. We maintain the current gardens with bi-monthly maintenance days as well as a Fall & Spring Saturday workday. The committee meets monthly in the evening. We are also the liaisons to outside greening organizations such as Education Outside. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to improve our existing gardens and fund and finish the Greening Master Plan for the entire school grounds. We offer many ways to volunteer and require little or no experience in gardening, just enthusiasm.
